Turkey's Road and Highway Toll Fees 2025
به روز رسانی در25 February 2025

Like many other countries, Turkey requires drivers to pay toll fees for using certain roads and highways. The cost of these tolls varies depending on factors such as the type of road, its length, and the category of the vehicle. These fees are periodically updated and may change over time. Therefore, it is highly recommended to check the latest toll rates before embarking on your journey.
In Turkey, traditional cash payments for tolls on roads, highways, major bridges, and crossings have been replaced with modern electronic systems such as the HGS Toll Payment System. This system utilizes smart antennas installed at toll booths, along with an HGS tag affixed to the vehicle’s windshield. When a vehicle passes through a toll gate, the corresponding toll fee is automatically deducted from the driver's preloaded HGS account.
The toll fees for different routes that operate under the HGS system are detailed below. However, it is important to note that these prices are approximate and subject to change over time.
One of the key factors in determining HGS toll fees is the vehicle class, which is generally categorized based on the number of axles and the distance between them. Vehicles are classified into six categories:
- Class 1 Vehicles: Passenger cars with a wheelbase (distance between front and rear axles) of less than 3.20 meters.
- Class 2 Vehicles: Two-axle minibuses with a wheelbase greater than 3.20 meters.
- Class 3 Vehicles: Three-axle vehicles, such as passenger buses.
- Class 4 Vehicles: Four- or five-axle trucks and heavy vehicles.
- Class 5 Vehicles: Trucks and trailers with six or more axles.
- Class 6 Vehicles: Motorcycles, which fall under a separate category.
This classification system ensures that toll fees are fairly assigned based on vehicle size and road impact, allowing for an efficient and automated toll collection process.
For Osmangazi Bridge (Osmangazi Köprüsü), toll payments can be made seamlessly using fast payment systems such as HGS and OGS, allowing vehicles to pass through without stopping. Additionally, cash payments are also accepted at the toll booths.

When passing through highways and toll roads, if a vehicle's HGS tag does not have sufficient balance, the driver is required to recharge and settle the toll fee within 15 days. Failure to do so will result in a penalty equal to four times the original toll amount.
To avoid additional fines, drivers should check and ensure their HGS balance is sufficient before starting their journey.
